Bill Edwards-St. Petersburg supporter extraordinaire

The Tampa Bay Times, this morning, featured on the front page of the new St. Petersburg section an article about Bill Edwards.  He is the biggest supporter of business and cultural development in the St. Petersburg area.  There isn’t another individual in the area that has spent as much as Bill in helping St. Petersburg culturally, financially, socially, and politically.  The article had a monopoly board on the front page showing all the investments that Mr. Edwards has made in the greater St. Petersburg area since he arrived to town.   Quite impressive that each block on the board showed an individual investment that he has made to contribute to the development of the area.  I know Bill personally and can tell you that I have never meet anymore that has more drive and passion for his vision of helping the community.  Yes, he has the means to do this as a result of his success in his many businesses that he has run through the years.  Yes, he runs his businesses with a close eye and demands perfection from his teams.  And yes, he has not always had it easy in life.  All of this has made the man who he is and we all should be grateful that there is somebody out there that has such a need to help a city grow in the right direction.  I applaud him for his drive, his passion, and his love for putting St. Petersburg on the map.
